
Steve Lancken
Steve Lancken has practiced exclusively as a mediator and arbitrator since 1990. Included in Steve’s ADR experience are "multi-party" insurance disputes, EEO and wrongful dismissal, native title, medical negligence, claims against the legal profession, lease disputes, commercial and personal disputes, wills and estates, workplace and industrial relations and major corporate litigation.
Steve has provided advice and or assisted in many negotiations including those involving workplace agreements, native title, property negotiations, and general commercial transactions. Steve assists negotiation teams to prepare for and conduct complex negotiations especially in areas of workplace relations, native title and in a variety of commercial settings.
As a negotiator, advocate, solicitor, arbitrator and mediator he has been involved in a vast number of legal cases including disputes relating to issues arising out of multi million dollar commercial projects, insurance disputes, personal injury matters and industrial disputes.
Steve is or has been an Accredited Specialist in Mediation and Commercial Litigation, a Graded Arbitrator - Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators, an Arbitrator of the District Court of New South Wales (appointed 1990) and the Workers Compensation Commission of New South Wales, Mediator of Land & Environment Court, Supreme Court, District Court and Local Court, an Accredited Mediator of ACDC/LEADR/Retail Tenancy Tribunal, Costs Assessor with the Supreme Court of New South Wales and a member of various associations. Steve is also the Registrar of the National Sports Disputes Centre.
Since 1999 Steve has practiced full time as a mediator, arbitrator and trainer. He resides in Sydney, Australia. In his 18 years as a litigation lawyer up to 1999 he advised clients in many disputes that have been resolved using innovative dispute resolution solutions.
Steve also facilitates multi-party disputes and community consultation processes.
He has conducted ADR training in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong and Malaysia. He teaches conflict management to MBA students at the Australian Graduate School of Management and is the Australian Principal of The Trillium Group..
