
Paul Gibson
Dr Paul Gibson is an experienced facilitator and mediator who specialises in the resolution of conflict and disputes within organisations through the ADR mechanisms of facilitation, negotiation, conciliation, mediation and arbitration.
Paul has been a successful line manager, company director and one of Australia’s leading consultants in promoting strategic management and facilitating organisational change. He has worked across a diverse range of businesses and industry sectors, and has consulted to large corporations in Australia and overseas for the last 22 years. Paul has worked with international organisations and governments in South East Asia, Europe & USA.
He is skilled and practised in working with Boards, JV Partnerships, CEOs, senior executives, management teams, work groups, individual employees and unions, and in situations involving significant turmoil and conflict (including organisational change, commercial & contract disputes, inter-personal conflicts, workplace grievances, industrial relations, sexual harassment, discrimination and workplace bullying). His clients include large corporates, government agencies and statutory bodies; he has also worked successfully with “uniformed” cultures of the military, police and prison services.
Paul is active in the education and training of dispute resolution skills. He is a member of the NSW Chapter Committee of IAMA and Convenor of its Mediation Sub-committee; and a member of the NSW Executive of LEADR. Paul also trains and coaches mediators and is regularly asked to participate in the training and up-skilling of facilitators and conciliators. He also adjudicates the University of NSW Law Faculty Negotiation Competition, and as part of this role coaches law students in negotiation skills.
He is an NMAS Accredited Mediator and a Graded Arbitrator with IAMA (with a Professional Certificate in Arbitration from the University of Adelaide).
He is a Senior Fellow of the Corporate Directors’ Association of Australia, and holds the qualifications of BSc (Hons), MEngSc, and DBA.
